The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program is a program for senior citizens and disabled people who have Humana Insurance (in the State of South Carolina) or any health care provider (out of state) that covers the SilverSneakers® program.  This program allows participants access to our facility and any of our programs.  It also allows them access to any of the contracted SilverSneakers® fitness centers anywhere in the country.  This service is offered to participants at no additional cost.

The SilverSneakers® 1 Class – Muscular Strength & Range of Movement – is an exercise class taught by a certified teacher.  The class concentrates on having fun and moving to music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.  This class is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 and lasts about 45-60 minutes.  This class is also available at no additional cost.

HOME RUN FOR HEALTH

During the months of May and June, every time a SilverSneakers member visits the YMCA they are working towards a prize. Members can pick up a card at the front desk and every time they come in someone must initial it. There are different levels of prizes depending on how many times a member comes in.
